The new Emergency Manager Law gives un-elected bureaucrats the power to sell community property and assets to private companies. Emergency managers can fire elected officials, including the mayor and city council. Emergency managers can break contracts, including union contracts. They can dissolve or merge entire cities, counties, and school districts.
Emergency managers are immune from civil prosecution, and can be receiving compensation from corporate entities while in office. The community is forced to pay the emergency manager's salary, and there is NO cap on such salary.
Emergency managers can hire as many consultants as they wish, for as much compensation as they want
