  • Can you tell me the music?

  • @meschio Johanne Strauss: Emperor Waltz

  • Looks like fun! I enjoy flying in light aircraft every chance i get. These kits look like a fun project to do. One question. Do you have to have a pilots liscence to fly these or are they considered sport aircraft

  • You do not need a pilot's license to fly an ULTRALIGHT. But you DO need a pilot's license to fly under the sport pilots' rules any aircraft aht's NOT an ultralight. An ultralight must weigh less than 254 lbs (without chute). The Nieuports all weigh between 340 and 440 lbs. They must be flown with some kinda FAA license.

  • Would be interested in tracking down some of these! Can I contact you viathe website?

  • Sure. just use the email link on the "About the dawn patrol" page.

  • @dstarks1943 It is constructed of aluminum tube as opposed to resilient spruce and the like, isn't it? Aluminum (Dural) tube fatigues with repeated loading and unloading does it not? Can these perform loops or inverted flight?

  • @dstarks1943

I think there is a set of 7/8 scale plans for an ultralight 11.

  • @paullubliner Nope... no failures known from all over the world. Some with over 1000 hours on them. Mine has 650 hours on it.

  • Everytime over the years and even now, when I need inspiration of the beauty of flight I watch this video. Many thanks.
