This scene covers a lot of thinkers and books, Camus, suicide, Dostoevsky, if there is no god everything is permitted, on and on, good stuff.

I have seen this movie AT LEAST 200 times. I saw it the first time in a $1 college campus movie theater in early 1976. My date hated it... so she had to go. As funny as this film is, I've looked at it closely and it does indeed have a dark side as well. In an interview quoted in numerous books, Woody said that Love and Death was the 'scariest' and in some ways the 'most serious' work he did.
