Baby Crows

In the Summer of 2010 Alberta suffered a number of bad storms, one of which knocked down a tree with a nest of baby crows. These babies were brought to the Medicine River Wildlife Center for treatment.

Here they are, being too sleepy for a feeding.

@Ironclaw17 All of these babies were released into a wild family of crows living near the Center's property, with an adult crow that had also been at the Center for treatment of a wing injury.

@847jen Baby birds are good at two things, eating and pooping. Their bedding is changed at every feeding, which is around every 45 minutes. We can't change it out every time someone poops (Every 10 minutes or so), as it stresses out the babies and can lead to them refusing food altogether, or getting sick.

@speedx50 They are fed a specially made goo that contains the protein, carbohydrates, and vitamins they need to grow. It's made from a lot of grains and seeds, dog and cat food, insectivore diet, and vitamin powders.
