I agree there man; all the other drummers were just keeping the seat warm for Nick so to speak, but I gotta say, Chuckie was pretty cool on So Far So Good... not the best technique but he was a fuckin solid. Bugzee90 says Gar was a beast - Nick is the THE BE(A)ST!!!!!!!!!!

  • @redevil993

probably because he had say in the actual drum parts, instead of being a slave to megadeth and dave?

  • @babadef I consider Chuck Behler a drummer. He made So Far... So Good... So What! He joined after Gar quit. (because Behler was Gar's drum tech) but after 1988 Chuck gave his place to Nick.

  • @hammerofmariotos i disregard behler as a replacement. i consider Nick Menza to be the true replacement for Gar since he was also a fucking awesome drummer.

  • @TKbassboomer Yeah, Gar is an interesting drummer to listen to because his roots weren't in metal, but jazz-fusion, which brought something different yet perfect for Dave Mustaine's vision. Nobody else had that, so I think it gave them an advantage for a while. He and and Chris Poland were familiar with each other because of that scene, which was obvious on the first 2 Megadeth albums. From what I hear on this song specifically, his previous skills married to thrash and prog metal well.

  • @TKbassboomer You might be right there, but Megadeth fans would defintely snap up anything he were to write. Am I right? I would.

  • @TKbassboomer Yeah, I can believe that. It's a very distinct possibility since Dave and Dave also had habits of their own, but their story could be the right one as well. Until I hear or see something different, I'll reserve judgement because no side but Dave's has been officially told. If Chris wants to get his side out to be heard or read, he should write a book like everybody else does. It's the best way to clear up inconsistencies.....or to prove them, in some cases.
