lol got a 2.7 with 179000 mile.. been thru it all rod knock, lifters tapping, pcv valve, canister purge problems etc.. my car cost more than a bmw. luv it tho good looks and it was my first..lls. taught me alot abt cars
no some have problems with the computer that extremly effects the transmission by jerking stalling and shifting late the 2.7L has extreme problems with engine sludge so every 18K miles they need an engine flush and when you put the oil back in use mobil 1 fully synthetic dodges work best with it and use a fram tough guard oil filter basically if you take decent care of it it will pay you back mine running great at 133K and my friend has his at 321K and it still runnin good just take care of it
oh yeah its probably always better to buy bigger engine cars, my friend he got an 89 chevy truck v8 5.0 liter with 160K works strong. but any ways thanks again
Not a problem! GM's 3.1 is a solid engine, and you should be safe, especially with only 68K on it, the only thing with those is that they tend to get a bit noisy, but thats it! In case you care! lol
oh ok thatnks, i got a 95 oldsmobile cutlass ciera with 68K 3.1 liter engine insted, seems like a good car for now. but thanks for advice about the dodge
I would definately recommend a model that has the 3.2 or the 3.5. Those engines are bulletproof and go well over 200K with minimal work. However, if you are looking at the 2.7, find one that was cared for and see if you can get any or all service records. Have it checked over by a trusted mechanic before you buy it. Then just make sure to change your oil every 3000 miles with a good synthetic oil and you should be fine. There are people that have gotten quite a bit of miles from these engines.
