  • Im sorry to say it but I hate the catholic church, they murdered thousands of people and tortured them all because they did not believe in christianity. I don't ever remember Jesus saying burn all the heretics. This is why i stay with a nature based religion. At least we don't go around burning people at the stake.

  • @Chevymonster203 you should know that it was the secular court that convicted her.

  • why was she executed?

  • @elysium76 It was by concession and autority of the Church but is always hard to say whos to blame the Church always try to blame the Secular branch but the fact is the two were mixed there no clear disctition this before laicism and separation of Church and State so the Church had enourmous political power.

  • @fluffynoses Yeah, the notion that 'nature based religions" (druids etc) didn't percesute or horribly torture others is ridiculous. The catholic church or christians don't have a monopoly on bad behavior by any means.

  • @Chevymonster203 c'mon haven't you watched The Wicker Man????

  • @elysium76 However what is even more interesting the Church really had no intention of killing her rather then trying to "save her soul" sorta speak. I am not defending the church however. But her trial was causing impatience. I heard she was beat and raped and was forced to dress as a man. Which caused her to be declaired a relapsed heretic and the law was death by fire. So yes it was the secular authorties who killed her. In the long run. But the church was involved in it's own way

  • @elysium76 Through the power of the church. See the what had happened was the seculor church wanted her dead but they had to go through the church. They had absolute power. And because of that they had to make a conviction. In the end she was a relapsed heretic but her death was more of a political one then a religious one. But it's quit interesting that the same church that killed her declared her a saint. Gotta love hypocrisy. But she was a remarkable person. She held to her beliefs

  • @jpowers55 NAH!! It was mainly religion. Religion is fucking poison when it mixes with politics

  • @METALLICARULES11 I guess she figured god would protect her from the flames. Either way she died a horrible, painful death. The thought of the pain is enough to make you sick. I would die from fear all in itself. Ahhh gotta love religion

  • she seems rathar relaxed considering whats about to happen

  • I loath the RC church - it's an abomination always has been and always will be. Full of hypocrites and liars. Responsible for some of the cruellest and most foul deeds on people. They went to South America and wiped out the natives there, they caused the Inquisition.
