Last night saw the work of Andrew Lloyd Webber return to the stage with his sequel to Phantom of the Opera, "Love Never Dies." However, it's fair to say the show hasn't been without its criticism from the press, with many branding it as a shambles, and one journalist calling it "Paint never dries" However, it would seem the audience who turned up last night had a very different view, so what do you think? Let me know at gossipgirl365
Interesting point, to look at LND as completely separate from the original. The problem is that LND has the same characters as Phantom in it. LND butchers the characters,on the whole they are nothing like they were in the original. That is why I find it hard to view LND as an entirely separate entity.

I understand the appeal of the show....I actually really liked Love Never Dies...it strikes different parts of the heart than the first Phantom did...and for a true Phan to appreciate it...they have to look at LND as an entirely separate entity.

Honestly, Gerard Butler should NOT have the best opinion. I disagree, immensely. I'm sure the musical can be enjoyable if not taken seriously, which I don't intend to. But Gerard Butler's opinion means nothing to me or anyone who's grown up on the stage musical.
