I am still amazed by how much smoking there is in Japan.

Coming into Japan from another country made me feel relieved I could light one up in a bar. Banning smoking in all bars in Canada is such bullshit.

@Shinjuthief as a set non smoking rule for all bars I agree it is a little over reaching but from a public health and food experience perspective I think the over reach is in the right direction. Places where there is a proper non-smoking section that doesn't have smoke wafting into it is the true ideal but few restaurants or bars have ever put in the time and effort to create such an environment.

As someone who smoked for 5+ years i can say that smoking should be banned in all indoor establishments. there is nothing more disgusting. I felt this way even when i smoked. Furthermore, regardless of my preference by you smoking indoors you are polluting the health of others around you. that is illegal. Even if you smoke second hand smoke is still just as bad for you as it is for non-smokers. if you don't quit you should smoke outside so you aren't getting as much second hand in your lungs.
