Srilanka to stop use of heavy weapons and combat aircraft

Sri Lanka security forces have been instructed to end the use of heavy caliber guns, combat aircraft and aerial weapons which could cause civilian causalities.

security forces will confine their attempts to rescuing civilians who are held hostage and give foremost priority to saving civilians the statement said.Army spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said to Lanka-e-News that the security forces nave stopped using heavy weapons, aerial attacks and battle tanks in the no-fire zone.
