Descent 3: Super Thief

There are good games, and then there are amazing games that came before their own time. Descent is one of those games. Taking FPS shooters to the next level, Descent (originally created by Interplay/Parallax Software) introduced new style of gameplay which they called "360º 3D", meaning, you could go anywhere at any given time in the 3 dimensional environment you were in! Here is a demo of Descent 3 in action.

Holy crap, I remember playing this game with my father. TOGETHER. Like, one was moving with the arrow keys (lol) and controlling the Joy Stick (<-- yea we had THAT) and the other one was supposed to shoot lasers and fire rockets.

Fuck, that was awesome. I totally hope they will release Descent 4.

Still very entertaining, action-based gameplay, wonderful atmosphere. Easily crushes nowaday's bests!

They won't. Most people aren't good enough at first person shooters to master the 360 degree movement. -_- And lots of idiots think this is a 'flight sim' game.

Damn, I wish this game got the credit it deserved, it's the best first person shooter ever, and yet, because of the difficulty, it gets no love. :(

@xiayu27 yea i think aiming with the mouse is more precise than using keyboard arrows but i think you mostly 'aim' using slides... every pro who just beats the game on insane difficulty mostly aims with his strafe

@MythVids Although I should learn, I really never did learn how to play on kb/mouse. I remember back in the PXO days, playing against guys that ripped me a new one using that combo.
