@Rob34212 Actually, the TV Series "Dark Shadows" was not filmed at Lyndhurst. Two movies "House of Dark Shadows" (1970) and "Night of Dark Shadows" (1971) were filmed there but not the actual soap everyone is familiar with.
Yes this was the "Dark Shadows" house. It is not abandoned, the main house has been mostly restored and is open to the public for viewing. The grounds are simply stunning and a length of the Croton Aqueduct trail runs through the property. Me and my wife would deviate off the trail (kind of frowned on) and walk through the property. You could always find a remote out-building like the pool house where time seems to have stopped and ghosts of a bygone still seemed to linger waving us in...
