Jan 24 - Doctors have begun heart bypass surgery on the Indian Prime Minister Manmogan Singh.

The Indian Prime Minister was admitted to hospital in Delhi on Friday after two blockages were found in his arteries. The 76-year-old leader, who suffers from diabetes, is likely to take several weeks to recover from the operation - leaving some observers wondering who is in charge of the government as the country prepares for a general election later in the year.

Liz Kennedy reports.
