Hi...yes, FEAR can run on a 64bit FX5200 if you make it right.

I'm using the OmegaDriver 66.93, the best Driver for the Nvidia Geforce FX5200.

My FX5200 is an Inno 3D 250MHz/332MHz, i overclocked it to 295MHz/392MHz (with fan) and i don't ever reached the overclock limit!

Now to the game...well, keep in mind that is an FX5200 and 64bit...it will not make any miracle, you will get playable framerates at cost of visual performance...at least i've got some areas with more than 60FPS (All set to minimun, some things can be set to medium without performance impact like: Textures, Efects and others things) my average FPS it's around 25~40 and the minimun was 15, so, pretty playable for me.

Just look at the video and see by yourself...oooh and keep in mind that i were usind Fraps to record, that means that the framerate was even smoother, the maximun it gets in this video is 25FPS becouse of the Fraps limit, without Fraps i get more than 60FPS in some areas.

And if you want to know, my PC is:

Celeron D 355 3.33GHz
1,25GB RAM DDR 400Mhz
Geforce Fx5200 AGP8X 128MB/64Bit 250/332 overclocked to 295/392

  • That's stupid. It is bad idea to overclocked on 5200 where it can harm video card core.

  • @Maul9999 I don't like overclock too, i just did it because i was gonna get a new pc anyway, but the FX5200 still worked until i got the new pc, it had a fan on it.

  • i have 2,5 athlon 512ram,fx5200,can i run fear? :?

  • @eiwa123 Yes and a litle better tham this i think, Athlon is better tham Celeron and 512MB should be enough.

  • @ChackaLockTahPuss Not really... My old PC had a Celeron D, and it was not dual-core... Trust me.

  • have u thought that this damn Celeron might be the bottleneck? i had Radeon RX9550 507/540 (stock 250/400) and a Celeron D336 socket775. lets say that framerate doubled in every game when i swapped CPU for a P4 630 :D

anyways, gonna try a FX5200 after i have applied new thermal paste to it :P

  • dude no senes to overclok on fear cuz the fx5200 can play fear whit out overclok i have a old pc whit that card a 812mb ram and a p4 1.90ghz and whitout overclok i get lik 55 60 fps ingame !!! so preety damn playable (i still use that card cuz i use that pc ofen scene thats where my tv tuner is lol )

  • Celeron D i see. My PC had it, it sucked more then this... Now i have a Pentium E6700, but i need to flash the BIOS. But i have a ATi HD GPU, and 3 GB RAM so after a CPU upgrade everything is fine!

  • @Mario0Dante Me too. I would never overclock if i have new desktop.

  • you overcloked for what fear works great on 128mb fx5200

  • i have a pentium m at 1.7 ghz with an ati mobility radon 600 at 400 mhz, is that enough to play FEAR

  • @DestroyEverythingYou

belive me... moh 2 is shit compared to this game :)
