This comedy song from George White's "Scandals of 1931" features music by Ray Henderson with lyrics by Lew Brown. It is sung here by the delightful Janet Klein, with Brad Kay at the piano.
See http://www.janetklein.com for information on ordering Janet's CDs where she has all of her Parlor Boys backing her. It's a sound that must not be missed. They perform regularly in Southern California -- schedules are posted on her page too.
Recorded Saturday 17 November 2007 at the 21st annual West Coast Ragtime Festival in Sacramento, California.
Great- but I really love how she has portrayed the real Persona of a 20's
singer- with the fluttering eyes and all that-hehe puts a smile on my face!

Watching Janet is like going back in time. Another great video I shot of her is called "Janet Klein excerpt". It shows her more sultry side...! She has it on her own Playlist on her web site.
She acts the flapper part even when not performing. It's really delightful.

You're the second younger person to say that. I find it ironic that young people growing up in today's world of rampant explicit sexuality find a presentation of the more subtle and suggestive sexuality of the 1920s & '30s to be "scary". I'd've thought young people would see it as as silly or passé if anything.
But hey, if you want to be "scared" some more, check the video called "Janet Klein excerpt" in the Related Videos list. Now there's some suggestive, steamy stuff from way back when!
