Theoneste Bagasora convicted for his role in the genocide of 800,000 Tutsis

A U.N. court sentenced a former army colonel accused of masterminding the slaughter of 800,000 people in Rwanda in 1994 to life in prison on Thursday.

The Tanzania-based International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) had accused Theoneste Bagosora, 67, of being in charge of the troops and Interahamwe Hutu militia who butchered 800,000 minority Tutsis and moderate Hutus in 100 days.

"Colonel Bagosora is guilty of genocide and crimes against humanity and war crimes," the court said.--By Frank Nyakairu

Only in liberal Amanapour's mind is life in prison for Bagasora "justice". The UN ignored the Genocide convention as did her lover Bill Clinton. Clinton left these people to die. France and the UN helped the Rwandan genocide to happen, So save us the crap Amanapour. There is not justice from the UN, that is an oxymoron. Nothing short of a slow death by the panga before a trip to hell will be justice for Bagasora.

Besides, impartial observers confirm that most deads were hutu; that is why the official version goes "800000 tutsi AND MODERATE HUTU". Only in your racist wishful thinking, the infrequency of censuses somehow means that tutsi suddenly multiplied dramatically faster.

A million tutsi is a number that is given by the tutsi-extremist propaganda machine; it is not only highly incorrect, but also IMPOSSIBLE.

There were only roughly 700000 tutsi in Rwanda, right before the (double) genocide. Only 200000 of these were missing after 1994; the 600000 other deads were hutu, who in all likeliness died in RPF-led massacres.

Calling this "the genocide of 800000 tutsi" is an insensitive thing to do, in the face of the hutu that lost their relatives and their freedom.
