  • Thanks for uploading. I enjoyed the music and time of reflection that this song seems to inspire. The photos of the crosses are a nice compliment to the video. This is in my top 5 of all time favorites. GRADE A

  • Thanks. I was fortunate to see him perform in an intimate venue, The Cellar Door in D.C. (Georgetown) back in 1972 or ' 73. Or was it ' 71 ?? lol.....

  • Wow had not heard of Shuggie Otis, very talented player by the sounds of it.

Anyone noticed at 6:17 the picture of Bloomfield, rockwell, and kooper is displayed/tagged incorrectly?

It clearly says " from left to right " Bloomfield - Rockwell - Kooper when it is clearly Kooper - Rockwell then Bloomfield?

    Why? lol

  • Yeah, saw that, too. Maybe it's a test. lol....

  • Shuggie's one of the best blues guitar player

    I've ever heard.

I'm a fan in Thailand, and I curious where

    he's gone.

  • From Wikipedia: "He continues to record sporadically. Shuggie resides in the Northern Californian village of Sebastopol. His most current recording is on the cd NOVEMBERIN' (2008 various artists) where he is joined by guitarist Jimmy Vivino of Late Night with Conan O'Brien. "

  • Back in 1969 Shuggie was miles ahead of any Blues player 30 yrs his senior. "Shuggies Chittlin' Blues" from Preston Loves "Omaha Bar-B-Q" album melted the paint off my walls. People were raving about Clapton but here was a teenager who could've nailed him to the ground. It's good to know he's still around.

  • 33zulu; Someone please download "Shuggies Chittlin' Blues" ..oneof the fiercest slow 12 bar blues i've ever heard. I reall seeing Shuggie play alongside Roy Buchanan and even Roy had a hard time keeping up.

  • Great!

  • Is this from a CD? Because this sounds like a different edit than the vinyl LP.

  • a long lost classic - I still have the vinyl version somewhere

  • We had this LP at home, back in the seventies. I was almost forgotten this song and didn't know the name of the musician anymore. Thanks to 33Zulu it's back! Thanks

Fantastic song, gonna download it right now!

  • !res ipsa loquitur... !;-)

  • Bury My Body - Al Kooper;Shuggie Otis - 1969 - "AMG Pick. It's hard to believe that a white, Jewish musician from the East Coast would be able to do gospel this well, but 'Bury My Body' is one of the finest examples of fusing gospel and rock from the late '60s." - Rare & Well Done: The Greatest And Most Obscure Recordings 1964-2001 (Well Done) (Columbia/Legacy) (Disc 2)-2001.

  • Takes me back to 1970, sailing out of Liverpool on the Imperial Star, my first taste of REAL blues. Magic, changed my taste in music (for the better) for good!!!

  • the song is fucking awesome.

  • How awesome. He scats to his own piano playing around 4:30!
