Chauvet Colorstrip Ultra Wash Mod for $4

I bought a $4 light diffusion panel at a local home improvement store and used it to replace the plexiglass in one of my Colorstrip Minis.

It was pretty easy to do, and the result was a much wider wash with better color blending.

Give it a try. I recommend going with the more expensive panel though, my cheap stuff was a little on the brittle side.

You should be able to.  They sell bigger panels.

Another very easy way to achieve the exact same effect is go to any music store, well one that has a clue and get F.1 or F.2 diffusion gel. They stock it with the theatrical gel sheets or can at least order it! Also, if you can find a way to attach a diffusion product whether its what is shown in this vid or the gel sheet, 1/2 inch off the surface you will not only NOT be able to see the LED's In the fixture but your projected light will be even more diffused, No clear edge!

I did this exact mod, on my Colorpalette. HUGE DIFFERENCE!! THANK YOU! Will be doing it when i receive my 2 csminis! :D
