Here's me doing a full 180 kmph on my Toyota Premio and cruising along for some time at that speed, until I had to hit the brakes. Touched the limit in 3rd gear. Ran it with over drive off, starting off in 'L' and then shifting into 'D' as you can see.

  • if u cn afford a premio u can definitely afford a decent camera phone, nice driving BTW!!

  • Lol..youtube recoded the entire video...the original sound track of the video was the music video being played in the car (snoop dogg's, drop it like its hot)...but youtube gave me a copyright warning after some time of uploading this video...that the soundtrack is in copyright violations...

  • So then I had to choose from a list of sound tracks offered by youtube and that was put over the original one, and the entire video recoded, thus resulting in immense quality loss as well...the original video does not lag like this...

  • oh Gr8...thanx dude!!! will get back to you for any premio related questions hahaha

  • ECT is also useful in mountain driving...it downshifts automatically when you press the brake, when suppose youre coming downhill...and when going uphill, it will prevent the transmission from upshifting too much, and will stay in the same gear so you will get the same climbing power that you get in a manual car...

  • Thats what ECT does...limits your cars torque...even if you floor the accelerator with ECT engaged, you wont get the same acceleration as you would get with ECT switched off...this is all to prevent wheel spin in slippery conditions.

  • Try stopping your car to a dead still..keep it in 'D'..now lift your foot off the brake pedal but dont touch the accelerator.

Your car will start creeping. Now do the same thing...but activate ECT power now...and stop your car to a dead still...keep it in D...now try lifting your foot off the brake pedal...dont touch the accelerator...you will feel that your car will hardly move now

  • ECT is Electronically Controlled Transmission...its a sort of mini traction control...it limits your car's torque...so as to reduce wheel spin in rainy / snowy conditions.

  • boy even i dint know that!!! thnks for the gud info...i own a premio 1.8 and always wondered what purpose O/D serves....and yea therez one more thing, there is a button on the dash that shows ECT SNOW when pressed....do you know what that means
