Time and time again Celtic people have told me, "It is not Scotch-Irish. Scotch is a drink and a tape. It's Scots-Irish". So I guess I'm Scots-Irish. A little Kraut thrown in way back yander, but mainly Scots-Irish. I hold more to my Scots-Irish heritage.

I do have partial Scotch-Irish in me from my father side. My father was from the Appalachia. I am proud of my heritage.

This almost makes me want to start playing again. Our music is commanding and is coming into its own. Here in the Appalachia we are making a stink that won't go away. Music is the language of the universe.

God bless our Ulster/Scots pioneers . Americans need to know who their ancestors really were. Thank you for putting this on. From pioneers to Presidents.

Great piece of history. Thanks. We're taught a lot of history in school that leaves a lot out. Why do we still have a holiday called Columbus Day when Columbus basically had nothing to do with discovering America? America was supposedly named after America Vespuci (sp). If Columbus discovered us, how come we're not called Columbia? High School classes don't talk about U. S. President Atchison either. Hmmmmm.

13:03.....The narrator forgot to say that when Boone crossed the Cumberland Gap into Kentucky, he was not only nearing the remaining French held zones to the far west and south, he was also directly entering the immediate (Reservation Lands of Kentucky) officially protected by the Royal Proclamation of 1763!

ps: There were Irish Jacobites too. The Jacobite wars involved the entire Royal houses of Catholic James ll, and the "Usurper" House of Orange of Protestant William of Holland. Many desperate Jacobite rebels ran to the four winds! And one wind took some to Appalachia!

Whos a Scot in here? Two songs. Jacobite song,>>"The Corries-Wha Wadna Fecht For Charlie" & a Williamite song, "Ye Jacobites By Name".................No doubt many Jacobites slipped in among regular settlers to escape the Williamite/Hanoverian (Glorious Revolution-House Of Orange from Holland) agents back in Scotland.

How amazing that the late Frank Proffitt Jr. sounds so much like his dad, Frank Proffitt Sr. RIP true brothers of the folksong.
