Spirit Wings Joni Eareckson

I had the album with this song on in early '83, but gave it away, and now this is the only song I have found from it, sadly.

Many people know Joni was paralysed from the neck down in 1967 when she was only 17, but have been blessed by her singing and artwork, (done by mouth), as well as her speaking and writing.

By the way, this is the first video I've ever made, so it's not brilliant.

maz59, thank you so much for sharing your joy in Joni's "Spirit Wings" album. When I was growing up, my family had a cassette of this album, but now that I'm married and out on my own, I wish I had the original that we used to have. I can't seem to find it in stores anywhere. I think my dad still has it out in Wyoming where he currently lives. I could search for it on Amazon or ITunes. BTW, I think your video really is brilliant!! The images you used are beautiful!

When my grandmother passed away in January 1983 this was the ONLY song that consoled me. It was my FAVORITE song by Joni before losing my grandmother but even more SPECIAL after losing my grandmother.....Then Sept. 3rd, 2009 my own mother ""graduated"" to Heaven, this song has even more meaning. I have this album & all the songs on there are really good, but THIS SONG, is the BEST on the album! Thanks MAZ59 for posting it ....THANKS JONI for sharing your talents with the world!!!!

Goodness this song & her wording takes me right back, I can remember my Mum playing this album, I remember all her wording - this is what is real, to soar with the Father, over our problems & issues & messes we get ourselves unwittingly into. He really can lift us up on His Spirit wings "now when my life confines me,I just look to You & soon my heart is soaring high above,troubles look much smaller,from Your point of view,lifted up on Spirit wings of love" how great it would be to start over !

I also had Joni's album on cassette which was thrown out with a load of other cassettes when my cassette player packed in. I wish I could get the same album on C.D. I love Joni's singing. I'm so glad I found this video!

I just cried. The memories of my childhood and the family i and dear friends i have lost all came back to me and i couldnt hold it in. Such beauty. I never realised how much i missed these songs.

If you know where i could download this song so that i may listen to this everyday on my MP3 Player along with my Petra it would be most appreciated.

@dolphinsqueen A sister in Christ whom I treated as my mother also died in breast cancer, I remember her husband kept praying with her every night while playing this music. I cried in my room hearing them and in my heart I'm praying with them.At last she's now lifted up in His spirit wings she can't feel any pain and struggle now.
