The Dream

This is a song I wrote about a century ago when I was in university and this is the first time I've ever recorded it.

The Dream

Years ago, I had a dream.
Birds were singing in every tree,
And you were there, the only one who seemed to care.
We just touched hands and then we flew away.

Together, far above the trees.
And time just seemed to die.

Now I think I know what it means,
To believe in something more than yourself.
Could it be, I've found the key to Heaven?
Or am I still asleep?

Morning came, the Sun washed out my eyes.
Could it be that I've been asleep all this time?
Well maybe I should just sleep forever.
Then time would surely die.
