From My Video Collection. Taken on various Sundays in August 2005 featuring 6024 and 60009 Union of South Africa. At Torre Station, the A4 is seen in trouble on the bank, shame a late running diesel unit got in the way - again!

  • Facts are that all trains steam hauled had 'Bankers' (another engine pushing at the back in order to climb the steep inclines while in Devon's Torbay area). This engine, an engine I fired to while at Kings Cross Top Shed, did remarkably well considering the amount of weight it was pulling.

  • Good to see an engine of great power and strenght getting stuck!I think it's priceless!

  • they may have adjusted the springs on the driving wheels to take more weight?

  • I remember No.9 has problems throughout 2005 with adhesion. I wonder how they fixed them.
