1984 Olympic B-Ball Team V NBA All-Stars

The scene was CBS Sports..Phoenix, AZ. This was the 8th game in a series of exhibitions for the Olympic Team. The Olympic squad won 84-72. this game gave a glimpse into things to come from some of the players from the class of '84, which was dubbed the Greatest Class in NBA history. The game also featured established greats such as Alex English, Magic, Isiah, Walter Davis.

If these kids think that today's game is so better & tougher to play, ask 'em the following question: why'd the league ADMIT to taking such an EXTREME approach in changing their defensive rules, with the expressed intent of specifically INCREASING scoring & efficiency for it's "perimeter" players?

Watch how many of 'em start to make a buncha' LAME excuses or don't even know what the hell you're talkin' about LOL!! That's how CLUELESS they are about the game & what's happened to it..

Thanks for posting this, it's ccol to see footage of a young Jordan on the open floor, talk about explosive! ...and seeing Isiah and Magic on the same backcourt, holy court vision, these were two of my fav point guards.

I think they should go back to the college players. and then create these NBA vs. USA events again. 1984 it got serious and everyone loved it. I don't think you'll get this level of interest against due to the talent that was around but at least you'd give some incentive to guys to stay in college, be the best, and make an olympic team, and a good name for themselves first before the NBA.
