  • @newscaster13 fil up the last half of the evening news with puff pieces... yeah and ad more commercials and no more long close...

  • This was before Brokaw turned the NBC Nightly News over to Brian Williams back in 2004.

    Williams at the time was at CBS-owned WCAU in Philadelphia (now an NBC O&O).

    Katie Couric was promoted to NBC News from affiliate WRC, and she was Washington correspondent. Now, Couric replaced Dan Rather.

    Charlie Gibson not only anchored GMA, but also Jennings substitute. Now, Jennings died of lung cancer in 2005; then Gibson retired last year, and Diane Sawyer (Gibsons co-anchor for GMA) takes over WNT
