As Priest:

Ps:110:4: The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

Gen 14:18: And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
19: And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
20: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

Heb:6:20: Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Heb 7:1: For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2: To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
3: Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.
4: Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

Heb:9:11: But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12: Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13: For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

1 Peter 1:18: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19: But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

Heb:9:14: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Acts:20:28: Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Rv:1:5: And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

1Jn:3:16: Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

  • I don't understand why people do not understand that Jesus is a high priest "in the order of Melchizedek" (Hebrews chapter 7). Jesus is Melchizedek ("King of Righteousness") and also the Prince of Peace... Paul did not say it plainly because he wanted people to understand the connection.

    Definition of "order": Greek "aphomoioo" (a) A facsimile (b) An exact copy or exact reproduction (c) A duplicate

    Agreed, such a clear and sound doctrine under blatant attack. It all comes down to accepting Christ's Deity.

  • Dangerous conclusion to come to. I hope you are right if you truly believe this. I will just believe what is written and not add, assume, or expand on the actual text. Could he have been God... yes! Should we believe he is or teach others that he is... NO! Best to leave God as God and let him reveal the rest :)

  • The pre existing Christ was Melchesidek before incarnation. He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. Christ had no person to serve until man was created. Therefore knowing suffering never really learning by knowledge but experience Doing learning of suffering in body completed requirements necessary for a full Melchesidek Office.But He Himself was never perfected rather office of priesthood. For humans who did not exist when His eternal office first existed. Jesus God Man is Priest
