  • I can't imagine what these animals went through. I mean, take a human's experience, then add having your only family escape without you, you not knowing why they wouldn't take you with them, then being left-- sometimes even trapped--in an empty house, with a limited supply of food and fresh water. You didn't know what's going on, how long it would last, if you'd ever see your beloved again, or even if you'd survive 'til nightfall. I'm so glad that such benevolent, noble people are helping them.

  • @90sfanforever I think that is a stupid excuse... nobody would leave their children behind... why their pets? No matter the disaster, if a person considered their pet family, they would not leave it behind. If Ilost everything in a disaster my dog would come with me reguardless of the situation.. if I had to live in my car, well so would he.

  • @Windowpane767 Many owners had to leave there pets behind because the shelters who take them. Or did you not hear.

  • I'd like to know how the fuck you can leave a pet behind, but get the rest of the family out. There is no excuse for this. No matter what anyone says.

  • These people are wonerful! :)

They can manage to care for many dogs as individuals, as though they were each one piece of an entire best friend!

What's more, they are so determined. When they have an aggressive dog like vivian, they don't give up and say "Eh, let's try again another day." They feed and clean after her daily, inspite of her lashing out.

  • Yes, thanks to the Human Society.

  • @Seasonchange1

Thanks to the Humane Society of the United States all pets may now be taken to a pet only shelter with their human family.

TY hsus for all your hard work and saving so many pets from certain death in locked homes.

When the police would not let families back in to rescue them.

  • i have a horse, and if that would happen(i live in a country where this type of things dont happen), i dont think i would be able to take him with me!D:

  • I hope that all the pets' owners can take their pets with them when the next disaster happen, they are part of the families, life hard enough for those pets and the owners to go through terrible storm then they had to be superated. I wish the government do more for all the victims during the Katrina, I still cry when I watch all the news today about all the people that had to suffer during that time. Hard to believe that was in this country to see people screaming for help for water and food.

  • id stay with mine

  • one reason i want to be a vet, i want to help
