China's J-15 is completely different from the Su-33, featuring completely new and indigenous technologies(avionics,sensors,
weapons,fire control,navigation system) aside from its airframe. It features the next generation of technologies such as AESA, etc.It is also much stealthier.It is a true 4.5th generation fighter comparable to the Rafale-M and F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. -

@Tremolux59 I'd say it took the US Navy only 3 days during the Battle of Midway to master carrier warfare, operating off old converted battleships. They had already mastered the art of jet ops on carriers during the Korean war, so less than 10 years, not 50.
