This video explains Ron Paul's positions on diplomacy similar to Ronald Reagan's position in the past: http://youtube.com/watch?v=yRQrDbtekyo

Ronald Reagan called the Soviets "The Evil Empire", yet in every single speech he went out of his way to emphasize how urgently he believed it was necessary to avoid military conflict with the Soviets. He was in a way desperate to achieve a negotiated peace with the Soviet Union meeting with Gorbachev many times and made agreements with him. If you look at the people (and I'm not saying Gmason08 is one of them) now defending these Bush policies who claim there are these people that we can't possibly negotiate with and we need to wage a series of war one after the other calling those who think rational are some how appeasers of the Neo-Nazi Germany such as Iran. That we who are find all the options against war and keep War as a last result are the new Nebel Chamberlain and that we are guilty of indifference of evil. If you go back and look at the debates in the 1980's the same people now hold up Ronald Reagan as their icon, but thats not what they were saying about Ronald Reagan in the 1980s they were calling him the Nebel Chamberlain of our country and Newt Gingrich the meeting he had with Gorbachev were most dangerous meetings since Nebel Chamberlain went and met with the chancellor of Germany. Ronald Reagan was not a moral absolutist in terms on how he made decisions, while George W. Bush is the opposite he was grounded in moral absolutism "it did not change, it cannot change" because he's convinced on the rode to righteousness. He feels he's engaged in a crusade that is moralistic first and foremost. Which i feel distinguish the Bush mindset from every other president we've had and accounts for all of these policies.

  • Ron Paul is a great leader. Sadly in these 8 years of bushes presidenty america has become more facist. Somebody has to put this video on world news.

  • just go ahead and download it let folks know or just past them the link...folks just need to see things in a different perspective

  • The only wild spending binge in the last 50 years has been the buying of votes via liberal vehicles such as social security, medicare, medicaid which runs a total bill of $60 trillion (and increasing) now.

  • I don't see the connection to the video, but whats your point in correlation to the clip?

  • right...the overall sze of federal government has increased 300% (yes 300%) since 2001, but somehow that's "liberal"? Bush is a fake conservative, fake Christian, and fake "leader".

Why did the ATF double in size since Bush?I thought he was conservative and pro-gun? WHy did he support the AWB?

  • Your so right..i wouldn't call him a bad christian...I think religion and one's spirituality is their own business. Thats like saying Joe Leiberman is a bad athiest lol

  • The biggest mistake Nevel Chamberlain made was to give a war guaranty to Polland. After that, the Polls would not give back the city of Danzig back to Germany.

  • *correction in the house dems voted against the war 126-81 (so 126 nay votes).

Let me allow this opportunity to stress that again you don't get to wash your hands on the whole affair blaming the opposition after having called them traitors for years for opposing your policies. This war is REPUBLICAN war.

  • Who cares about Bob Barr? He was for the war that disgusting POS. And he's not a Republican anymore. Chuck Hagel didn't vote against the war either. In the house Dems voted against the war 126-215 and reps voted overwhelmingly for it 215-6. In the Senate only 1 Republican Lincoln Chafee voted against it, 21 Dems did.

Neocons are Republicans you're not going to wash the blood of your hands by blaming the opposition this time.

  • Ron Paul is a Republican.

    So's Chuck Hagel.

So's Bob Barr (no, he's not a Libertarian, really).

You are sorely misinformed and very, very sad, jpbalkenende

  • Neocons are Trotskyites. They're a form of Democrats that have infiltrated our party.

Bush is a Neocon. Or, at least a Neocon puppet.
