Minecraft Tutorial : Updated Lava Trap

This lava trap works with the changes that occurred on the Halloween update of November 2010. It's outdated; better make a simple lava blade like in the practical SMP-PvP mob trap. Use something else if you want to kill animals.
Connect your canals network to this grinder and collect items while you afk at the end of it.
It's okay if you have up to 3 spiders in your trap. Eventually other monsters falls in, push the spiders and then the whole thing clears out. You lose nothing as long as it clears out, one or three spiders in your grinder doesnt matter if it's not completely clogged.
Chickens and slimes gets trough without burning. If you block the chickens, you will get tons of eggs (along with a massive chicken congestion). If you don't want chickens, put 2 cactus on the side of the collector. When 2 chickens gets in the tunnel, they will bump each other into cactus.
