@dsaslav It does work that way, it is all computer done. The chicken is for show and is no different than a zombie looking for whatever brains the computer unlocks for them.

In a true game of Tic Tac Toe, the players are actually supposed to alternate between who goes first. So round one the chicken goes first. Round two you go first, Etc etc. Not there's only one round, you lose. That is cheating. Also, it is to be a coin toss in who goes first.
Watch the movie War Games, it shows a very interisting approach to the game.

Calvin Trillin wrote about the Chinatown tic-tac-toe chicken. He took guests to play the chicken.
They'd always say something like, "The chicken gets to go first." Trillin would say but he's a chicken. Surely you can let him go first.
Then they'd say something like, "The chicken plays every day. I haven't played for years."

No, actually, I think it's a little more fun than that - the computer places a kernel of corn in one of nine places - and the chicken, in going for the kernel of food, pecks his copy of the board. At least I hope it works that way.

duh. who would risk 10 grand on a chicken? tic tac toe is a game that if played correctly by both players, ALWAYS results in a tie. to win, you have to rely on your opponent's mistakes - every single time. if they make no mistakes, you don't win.
so a computer guarantees it's either a tie or a win every single time, so thats how they put up 10 grand on a chicken. it's fake.

You're mostly right...the chicken pecks at a button, which then prompts the computer to actually pick a square...
