This talk will discuss statistical issues arising in writing grant proposals, and describe how to handle them. The specific areas covered will be writing the specific aims and hypotheses, specifying the study population, selecting a study design, defining outcome measures, performing sample size calculations, and writing a data analysis plan. Issues specific to both basic science and clinical projects will be discussed.
