A public option would not change anything Alan. The very reason these corporations are so big and irresponsible is because of government granted monopoly. Take away the government umbrella and we would see them cut each others throats to provide better services and lower costs. It will be like collage education. Because of government grants and student loans paying out whatever the collages will charge the prices are then set for everyone else. Then there's housing...Same thing.

My wife and I had insurance, both worked at hospitals, and yet I still had $30K in bills and filed bankruptcy after all the treatments insurance rejected. Something must change and only one party appears to be trying to do something. I am DEMOCRAT ! (former republican)

sounds like my bill I sent to congress.
