PLEASE NOTE: This video was originally produced on November 2, 2008, two days before the 2008 Presidential Election. Despite the election having been won on November 4 by Barack Obama, the video was reproduced on November 17 to correct an error not realized at the time of original production. Its purpose now is to show what would have been the ideal outcome of the election.

Look at a map of the United States.

The states are different colors to help define their borders.

But the color of each state often varies from map to map.

Have you ever wondered who gets to decide what colors to use?

I propose a new color scheme, and I need your help to make it possible.

We can turn the map red on Election Night by voting for experienced, principled, and proven leadership; that of John McCain and Sarah Palin.

MAKE IT HAPPEN

On Tuesday, November 4, please vote.

And when you do, VOTE McCAIN-PALIN: THE TICKET FOR AMERICA!

  • West Virginia appeared a bit reluctant to turn red.

  • That's because the states turned red in the order in which they were admitted to the Union. West Virginia became the 35th state on June 20, 1863, following its secession from Virginia.
