The Dades Valley has over 1,000 Kasbahs. A Kasbah resembles a small, fortified castle built of mud and straw. These lofty creations are each inhabited by just one family. The Dades River runs through it creating a sea of green on both sides that diminishes into dry and arid the further away you get from it. The river is created from snow melt from the High Atlas Mountains and you could see the rocky and arid mountains.

The town of El Kelaa des M'Gouna and entire area surrounding it is famous for roses and rose products. Tourists aren't allowed in the actual factories but are more than welcomed to browse through the many shops. We smelled delicious after a visit to one of them.
