@d0ned3al do you have a link to that article. I would love to read it!

The man's got great tone and awesome phrasing. I don't want to get into a pissing contest over who's the best guitarist out of 37.6 million players on the planet, but I find JM a very expressive player and his sense of rhythm just kicks and bounces to my ears: I'm with Sparkyman on this. He always looks so totally at ease with his instrument, like it's just an extension of his body - and his choice of notes is so often the unusual and elegant choice. Bloody envious, but still keeping my Strat!

l gave John lesson's when he was 17.

if you guys read rollingstones, there was a article where clapton admits john mayer is better than him. i still respect both

He looks like Stevie Wonder on the guitar

@sparkyman91 Mayer is a better guitarist than Clapton. One reason is that he is always rhytmically in the pocket and that makes for better listening even if you don't know it. This is hard for an old man to admit - I know because I am one.

if he wasnt handsome he would get a lot more respect...

@sparkyman91 that comment is too fucking long im not reading it!
Nobody is better than anyone when it comes down to blues. Eric Clapton is unique and so is John. They both have their own styles to convey the emotion of blues. You can always tell by the phrasing of the riffs who is playing. For me personally I like Mayer better as I feel I connect to his guitar playing, lyrics/songs and his singing alot more than Clapton, that's not to say he is any better, but I would rather listen to Mayer over Clapton purely because of the emotional connection it has on me.
