Take off and landing at Nah Trang, Viet Nam 1965. As you will see at that time we did not have the Camouflage fatigues, and our rifles were the M-1. At this time there were about 19,500 US Army men( no Marines) in all of Viet Nam. The build up of troops started on Feb 8th 1965 after 12 Officers were killed or wounded further north. Note the 2.75 inch rocked pods, and then the fired rockets at a VC outpost.
Thanks for your kind comments. Since we were based at Vung Tau, some of us were sent further north for temporary duty (TDY) All of us, 3 pilots and 7 or 8 support did everything to support the mission. I had my portable photo lab, processed film, made prints, and helped out on the "line" to reload the rocket pods. - Dietmar

Awesome historically significant footage thank you sincerely for posting this up here. I trust you have lodged this with the appropriate Museum/Association for future generations? :-)
I noticed some Caribou tails in the background too, and did aircrew often load their own WP 2.75in rockets?! :-) Cool!
Again thank you SINCERELY!!
