Missing Man Formation with BIG warbirds

A B-17 does the pull out of formation with a B-24 and two B-25s as "Taps" plays in the background. Particularly poignant this year, as only the previous day there had been a fatal collision between two P-51s in the airshow.

I saw one very similar to this many years ago in Dayton, Ohio. The CAF's B-17G, B-24, and B-29 "Fifi", and the Canadian Warplane Museum's Avro Lancaster, in a missing man formation, with the B-17 (as here) pulling out of formation while the PA blasted a bagpipe version of "Amazing Grace." I get teary just thinking about it.

the airshow that year (i went saturday) was great. hey really packed the warbird performance! this past years was good but not the same.
