@goligadi Further, a city is known when it hosted a major sporting event. Big opportunities came with the the city being promoted as highly industrialized and modernize. Like when Seoul hosted the Olympics. Korea's hosting of the Olympics put them in the same breath with London or Washington!

@goligadi Yes! its not wasting money! Its what we called investments! The city of Doha had become world famous! Last I heard that moddle east rich gulf states are investing so much in tourism, particularly in sports tourism, so that the economy will not suffer abruptly when the oil supply runs out! Well, this is the best way to showcase the good side of a country!
