sorry, but the Nissan VG/VQ/VH/VK engine families are all award-winning designs in their own right. honda has absolutely NOTHING on nissan ltd.'s power plant-building prowess.... even a well-built L-series motor with a good fuel system (i like the 46mm SU's) can transform the 510 into a pint-size muscle car. there's really no reason to take the 'datsun' out of your 510.

if you havent taken your 510 off-road (deliberately), you haven't experienced all the capabilities of this great little car. the R200 differential and the mass it provides at the rear axle-line is a necessity in setting up a successful rally or sand 510/610/200SX/Z. the way this little car negotiates the roughies , the launches and landings are just about the most fun you can have with your pants on. long live glamis!
