Kindle DX screen cracked

I bought it 2 weeks ago... It had worked well...
Yesterday, I turned it on... But I saw its screen cracked..

I've been very careful with it, and it has an cover. I don't know how it happened, I guess it wasn't as stable on the desk as I thought. I had a Sony Reader for one years without problems. I feel like such an idiot.

ohhhhh,

bad news, I had got one since 3 weeks only

I hope amazon have kindle externl kits to fix it rather than paying 400$ again for new one>>>>>

Understand, that the new Kindle screen is fragile. If you can baby it, buy it. If not, find an older Kindle or other E-Reader.

The new Kindle should be sturdy enough for travel and all of the normal trials and tribulations (other than dropping it in water). However, the Kindle screen is very fragile. Hubby was at the airport and put his in his back pocket and sat down. The Kindle had no outward signs of damage...none. However, now the text only appears on the lower half of the screen with the upper blotted out. Amazon wants $58.00 plus tax and shipping.

I have exactly the same problem since 2 days.

did you solve the problem? did amazon replace it to you.

oh, wat's a pity~~~ it's not cheap. i m thinking of buying one too, but once its broken, it will be the end of  500 dollors... huhu
