Damon Miller, a former KU men's basketball manager, gets closest to the pin (2 feet, 8 inches) and wins $5,000! Filmed at Smiley's Golf Course in Lenexa, Kan., William Jackson of KCTV5 reporting.

  • He actually hit a whole in one to qualify for the final million dollar hole-in-one event. $5k made Damon a pro-golfer, and I never let him forget it every time we played and he beat me (badly).

  • Brother Damon! I was working at the driving range down the road and giving him free buckets for quite a few nights prior to him taking this shot. I sat with his mother and father up at Smiley's and I think the three of us were the only in the crowd not shocked nor surprised when he made this shot. Damon thrived in pressure situations. I am a better man for having known him.
