I surmised that the fundamental reasons to why they can't achieve drastic improvement is a consequence of having inadequate knowledge in utilising as well as exploiting the vantages of Mind Maps. In accordance with Buzan, he describes the four major pitfalls that are plausible to any Mind Mapper: (1) Mind Maps that aren't really Mind Maps, (2) the idea that phrases are more meaningful, (3) the idea that a 'messy' Mind Map is no good and finally, (4) A negative emotional reaction to any Mind Map.

I can attest to the power of this. I was able to quickly (~10 hrs) create an end to end workflow and feature pipeline for a 40 man video game development organization. When submitted to other managers, they were astounded at the amount of work that had been accomplished in the time frame (less than 2 days of work w/ minimal input from other managers), and accuracy of the content (90%+). It does make you smarter. Came off looking like a genius! My system is now being implemented.

This is so simple , Mind Mapping I mean . But I don't think it works that well as advertised
In all my years on mnemonic research, I have yet to discover anyone that genuinely improved significantly with the aid of MindMap.
