Tapioco is also very healthy...full of calcium. Am I right Manjula-ji?
I used-to give my son this kheer when he had teething problems..and it really worked. Hope it helps other mommies too !

@chattingwithu Its about 3 months since you asked so I guess you might just have figured out what to do with your starch, but if not, let me tell you that Creme Anglais or Creme Patissiere which is used to fill gooey pastires is made with that. What you need to do is to soak 1.5 tbsp of starch in 2 tbsp of cold milk and bring to boil 1 cup of milk, add this cold soaked starch to it under stirring with a whisk. You must add sugar, salt and vanilla to taste and voila you have a delicious dessert.

Namaste Aunti Manjula. I love your recipe. And thanks a million times for taking time here to teach us. I tried your tapioca but when I put 1/3 of water to it, to sit for two hours it became one piece like a pie. I don't know what happened. Could it be because the tapioca little ball like structure where not as big as yours. When I put it in the milk it wont disolve. then had to try another one this time I put the tapioca with out the resoak. It wasn't bad.

@Manjulaskitchen ok...thank you...I will look for the pearls then.
I was so looking forward to making this today but when I got home I realized I purchased tapioca starch...is there anyway I could use this instead of the pearls and if so how much should I use! Thanks!

Looks very tasty! What kind of milk did you use for this? Is it whole fat milk or 2%? Just wondering.
