Probably way to late. But leave CRT. I am going from LCD to crt

@spacegoogie Thanks for the info spacegoogie. If I ever get around to making my own cab, I'm sure that will be one of my more difficult decisions to make.

Some day they will stop making the CRT's I think. And here in Europ It's allmost impossible to find something like Wells Gardner or monitors specialy made for cabs.
So I decided to use a SONY 32" Full HD LCD TV.
The model of the cab is the same as a MK2 cab only wider.
It's not finished yet but it will look real nice I'm sure.

@spacegoogie Oh I gotcha. The other thing to consider though is with a widescreen lcd you don't get the vertical games looking good. Pac man on a widescreen lcd would be awful in my opinion. I guess for me I play vertical games FAR more than visual/future pinball.

@spacegoogie I can not find a CRT bigger then 19" and thats all I need to get going!
Why are people so ANTI-LCD in a mame cab?
I know that arcade machines use CRT monitors, but other than the aesthetics of a CRT, what is wrong with going LCD?
It seems as though the pros outweight the cons for LCD, and yet everyone is against LCD in a cab? I'm confused? Is it just about being genuine and true to the old machines, or is there more to it than that?

@janX9 The good thing about LCD is they are light weight and easy to find, also cheap. The downside is LCD's look to nice. They make arcade games look to pixelated and blocky, this does not look good at all. Also you can not play the arcade game at it's native resolution. If you did a side by side comparison of LCD and arcade monitor running an arcade game, the arcade monitor would win hands down. The game on the arcade monitor would look so crisp and clean. BUt hey to each there own.

here's a thought, why not add the 22" lcd into another cab and make it a vertical monitor pinball cab, this way you can do it over time when you have the money etc.

@ArcadeMameMachine I would, the only thing is I have one more empty cab left and I know a few people who are going to want a MAME cab. If I had some extra cabs and an extra PC I would for sure have a dedicated pinball cab.

I'm anti-lcd for a monitor, just ends up looking fake for an arcade cab. Just my 2 cents.

@nickynooch I'm with you 100% on that. But it's going to be the only way right now to play VisualPinbal in a Higher rez. To bad I can't do some kind of piano-hinge on the LCD and have it swing down in front of the 25" monitor......hmmmmmm...now thats an idea.
