Thunderstorm in Montreal - July 1st, 2009

This is a video of a good thunderstorm that raced through parts of the island of Montreal, including here in the West Island. Most of the lightning is within the cloud, but you do hear thunder on and off throughout the video and see some flashes of lightning, including a nice cloud to ground strike at about 1:44. At the end, you'll notice what seems to be some lowering there, but I think that is mainly scud.

We had rain with this, as well as gusty winds and some pretty cool cloud to ground strikes. This was one of the three storms that formed in and around the island today, and was responsible for some flash flooding in parts of the greater Montreal area.

Nice, storm season is heating up now!...seems like the storm season or even summer in general is arriving late across most of Canada this year. Hopefully it stays longer then normal.
