Doug Gilmour was awesome. He had skill and toughness. He could score, pass, hit, fight everything. It's cool seeing the small guys kick ass

Gilmour is the type of player Toronto fans want. Tough, fearless, skilled and ruthless. There isn't one guy on this current Leaf team close to Gilmour in popularity. Kessel comes closest, but he plays the exact oppposite of Gilmour. Soft, meek, and mild. Thats why ones a winner, and the other hasn't come close to winning anything. Because nice guys finish last.

@OneEyedKeys True; '93 playoffs were filled with suprises, upsets, & overtime games :-) After the Penguins were knocked out, I really started to believe that it was the Leafs' destiny to beat Montreal for the Stanley Cup that year. Gilmour was the heart & soul of that team in '93. That team looked as if it was built to win the Cup. Sadly, they fell just short...but they still left us some great memories forever. :-)

I stopped reading when you said Gilmour was "over-hype". Anyone who says Gilmour was hype doesn't have the fuckest clue about hockey.
