  • Jephtha is my favourite oratorio. I really love Handel, wish I could have met him

  • I heard McKellars and others and nobody comes close.........

I know we all have childhood favourites etc but we arent convincing anyone i'm afraid.....better singers oft come along.......Ainsley is hard to beat.

  • @EffulgenceDiva The ABC Australian Broadcasting Co via the Dymocks shops ABC departments had it in as A title CD "Where E'r you walk" a couple years ago by various artists. Had about 5 Kenneth Makellar tracks on it. All GFH. Double Album Ive lost mine so I cant upload. Sry mate.

  • @Malloyism Where can I find his recording, please?

  • @dougebraga you forgot to add James Bowmans "Air" Preist "our Father of heaven" from Jusdas Machabaeus

  • Kenneth MaKellars blowns everyone elses away.

  • Listen to Mark Padmore's version for comparison. I really like his rendition too. It's a bit slower and you can really sink your teeth into the emotion of the accompanying music!

  • A great Haendel aria and a brilliant performance!

  • I have my handelian personal list:

    - Waft her Angels through the skies (Jephtha)

    - What passion cannot music raise and quell (from Ode for St. Cecilia's day)

    - Son nata a lagrimar (from Gulio Cesare)

    - My breast with tender pity swells (from Hercules)

    - Se pietà di me non senti; Piangerò (from Giulio Cesare)

    - Se vago rio(from Aminta e Fillide)

-D' Amor fu consiglio(from La Resurrezione)

    - Gentle Morpheus, son of night; Tune your harps (both arias from Alceste).

  • The handelian supremacy by the supreme handelian tenor voice!
