The second film seemed more of a drama than a comedy to me.

EBERT=UGLY
FANS=LOSERS

Siskel seemed to have a problem with someone saying ANYTHING good about a film that he gave a thumbs down to, or anything bad about a film that he gave a thumbs up. It seemed to be all or nothing with him.

The drug lords were the best!!!! Really Good!!!

I liked this one a lot as a kid but as an adult I can see its pretty trashy. In the first movie he was a simple fish out of water. In the second movie hes a superhero. Uh huh. The movie does pick up when they go back to Australia and hes in his element but the first half is so dreary and charmless that its not worth getting to the second half. Siskel and Ebert were spot on.

hands down this movie and the first one rule. But 3 rules in its own way too.
I think the 2nd film was brilliant too. Especially the 2nd half of it.

this is the best film of the 3.
i particularly like the first half of the film in new york.
used to prefer the 2nd half but i watched it again recently and the new york scenes are more complex and more funny than the 2nd half.
i think a lot has to do with the fact that theres much more characters around them and more atmosphere in the big city than the outback.
theres more of a sense of crime and dramatic camera shots
and the music in the whole film is absolutely brilliant.
