well if your going to say "its time for them to deserve a four year degree" then why are the student athletes not going to class? and even if you do get the student athletes money some players will still find ways for to cheat. Also, its not fair for the kids who come from a wealthier family to recieve benefits when they dont need them. And for the kids who dont have a welathy family then they have pell grants from the goverment to pay for living expenses. just my opinion
If you pay the athlete, then you should at the same time eliminate sports scholarships across the board. They should go to school on their academic abilities, earn scholarships based on those abilities, and then only go to school if they can show they belong there academically and can afford to do so. Otherwise, why would they bother going to college anyway, all they would do is wait 1 year and go professional.
sadistic in many senses. Did you know that the University of Michigan grosses over $20 million from football alone? In being able to formulate my own opinion for the student-athlete through research,. Merchandise being sold with a specific athlete’s number on there, but yet that athlete doesn’t touch any of that green; this bothers me. I can’t lie; money is corrupting our society left and right, on every avenue in this country. So should they, or shouldn’t they get paid
